About JEE Advanced

As part of the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, India holds an academic examination every year. During the JEE-Main exam, one of the seven zonal IITs in a round-robin rotation pattern, under the direction of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), is responsible for organizing the exam. Prior to the introduction of UCEED, online bachelor’s degrees used to be offered.

It used to be that entrance into the Indian Institute of Technology bachelor’s programs was based solely on academic performance, awards, and Olympiad entries. However, these new channels have only a very limited number of seats available.

In addition to the JEE-Advanced exam, other universities, such as the Marine Engineering and Research Institute, the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, the Indian Institute of Space Technology, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, as well as the Indian Institute of Science, also utilize the score obtained on the JEE-Advanced exam as a basis for admission to other universities.

The JEE-Advanced score may also be used to determine eligibility for admission to non-Indian universities, such as the University of Cambridge and the National University of Singapore, if an applicant from India wishes to pursue higher studies at those universities.
